Rewa: Half-naked woman taken to police station at night, video viral

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In an alleged gross negligence, a woman who was detained in a passenger bus with two persons, was taken to police station in a half-naked position in Rewa district on Tuesday night. A video showing the woman half-naked also went viral on social media.

In the video, a home guard jawan is heard abusing the woman with casteist remarks.

The incident was reported in Shahpur in Rewa district. According to information, the woman along with a man was seen in an objectionable position in the passenger bus.

The locals informed the police. A home guard jawan who was on duty at Shahpur bus stand was sent to check. The video was reportedly recorded by locals who can be heard abusing the man and bus driver.

In a video, the woman is seen requesting the home guard jawan to allow her to wear her clothes. However, jawan and other locals refused to allow her to wear clothes. In the video, the woman is forced to get on a police vehicle half-naked.

Rewa Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh said jawan has been returned to district home guard and a probe has also been ordered into the incident. “The woman has been handed over to family members. A probe has been ordered to find out the truth,” he added.
