Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): With the pre-Eid rush expected in most parts of the Old City, the traffic police will enforce a traffic management plan from Monday onwards to handle the heavy crowd and ensure smooth vehicular movement. These measures will remain in effect till March 30 in the old Bhopal market area. In Old Bhopal the internal market areas, including Janakpuri, Jumerati, Chhote Bhayya Chauraha, Ghoda Nakkas Chauraha, Hanuman Ganj, and Azad Market, will experience increased footfall during this period as people from across the city and even from rural areas will flock markets for shopping.

Aiming for the convenience of the commuters and locals ahead of the Eid celebrations, the traffic management and alternative route arrangements have been planned to manage the expected crowd in the old city area. To reduce traffic congestion in market areas, certain restrictions have been put in place by traffic police.

Traffic regulations

- No loading vehicles, auto-rickshaws, or four-wheelers will be allowed to enter the internal market areas.

- No four-wheelers coming from Karond, DIG Bungalow, Sindhi Colony, Shahjahanabad, and other areas will be allowed to enter the interiors of market areas.

Parking Arrangements

- Four-wheelers coming from Bhopal Talkies Chowk - Bal Vihar Ground

- Two-wheelers coming from Bharat Talkies - Central Library Ground.

- Four-wheelers/three-wheelers coming from Sangam Talkies via Sabzi Mandi - empty premises of Sabzi Mandi.

- Four-wheelers/three-wheelers coming from Lakharpura, Ranjan Pen Corner, Itwara, Marwari Road, and Habibganj will not be allowed to enter the Chaak Bazaar area.

These vehicles can be parked at the multi-level parking near Saraswati Administration or at the parking lot near Sadar Manzil. Traffic police officials urged the traders to load and unload their goods from 12 to 7 am.
