BHOPAL : A 35-year-old police constable posted at Ratibad police station committed suicide by hanging self at his house in the Neelbad area within the limits of Ratibad police station on Monday afternoon. He was rushed to Sharda Hospital in Kotra, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
TI Ratibad Purnendra Singh said that the deceased was Naveen Mishra, 35, son of Loknath Mishra, resident of Amarpatan in Satna district. He was currently staying with his wife and two daughters at Puja Colony in Neelbad.
On Monday afternoon, his two daughters were away to Kopal School, where they study. At around 1 pm he told his wife to go to her parent’s home in the neighbourhood. After his wife left, he committed suicide. Around 15 minutes later, his wife returned and when he didn’t open the door after repeated knocks, she peeped inside from the window and was shocked to find him hanging by the ceiling fan. She immediately called her brother after which he broke the door of the house and rushed Naveen to Sharda Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
His wife informed the police that he was depressed for the past few days and was not going on his duty for the past four days. ‘
TI Singh said that Naveen was recruited in the police force in the year 1999 in Indore. He was later transferred to Kamla Nagar police station and then to Ratibad police station.
