Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Over a dozen women were caught from Bageshwar Dham and transported in an ambulance near the Madhya Pradesh-Uttar Pradesh border late Monday night.

It is said that the women were involved in activities like chain-snatching, theft in the crowded Bageshwar Dham, and so it was decided by the management to drop them to the nearest railway station.

Around 9 PM, a Dial-100 call alerted police in the Lavkush Nagar area that an ambulance was allegedly carrying 13 women against their will.

The police immediately acted, chased the ambulance, and stopped it near Patha outpost. All the women were safely brought to Lavkush Nagar police station for questioning.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused women had been sent from Bageshwar Dham.

A sevadar (volunteer) who was in the ambulance said the women were suspected of being involved in incidents like chain-snatching and theft at the dham.

He claimed they were warned earlier and were now being dropped at Mahoba railway station in Uttar Pradesh.

The method of sending the women—at night, in an ambulance, without police involvement has raised serious questions and sparked public concern.

No official statement has yet come from Bageshwar Dham authorities.

Attempts to contact their representatives have been unsuccessful, and no videos or official proof of the incident have been released so far.

Some videos are said to be shared privately, but it is not clear yet if they are real or not.

The matter is now under investigation, and the police are trying to find out whether any laws were broken in the process of transporting the women.
