Rewa (Madhya Pradesh): A female constable from Rewa district is once again in the spotlight after a reel she recorded while on duty went viral on social media.

The viral video shows her giving expressions and striking filmy poses on Bollywood song 'Dhundhte Hai Hum Tumko Darbadar, Jane Kab Kaha Miloge Humse Humsafar).

The lady constable has been identified as Sandhya Verma, posted in Rewa. Earlier too, a reel in which she was seen dancing to Bhojpuri tunes, was widely shared on social media.

Officials said the reel was originally made in January and was later deleted from her social media. However, it resurfaced two months later and started spreading again, creating buzz on social media.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Singh had earlier assigned Additional SP Vivek Kumar Lal to investigate the matter. The investigation has been carried out, and the report has been submitted.

More such incidents surfaced

In another similar case, a head constable posted at City Kotwali police station, along with his colleagues, was seen making reels while dancing to Bhojpuri songs.

These videos were shot at places like the court, police station, and even inside police vehicles. The reels were shared on Instagram and soon went viral.

Due to the seriousness of the matter, SP Vivek Singh has started a fresh investigation and stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty. After the controversy grew, the female constable deleted her entire Instagram account.

Rewa-based lawyer BK Mala raised strong objections, saying that making reels during duty hours is not acceptable. She added that when the city is dealing with rising crime and drug issues, police officers should focus on their duties instead of trying to gain likes on social media.
