Jail authorities say they cannot provide security
BHOPAL: None of 19 SIMI activists, who were to be produced in ADJ as well as CJM courts on Tuesday, was produced in the respective courts on Tuesday. The jail authorities informed the courts that SIMI men could not be produced because of security reasons.
Defence counsel Pervez Alam said, ” Six of 19 SIMI activists were to be produced in court of ADJ BS Bhadauria while 13 SIMI activists were to be produced in court of CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari. But in the both the cases, courts were informed that jail does not have sufficient force to provide security”. Alam said, ” It is tactic to prepare ground for video conferencing for SIMI activities detained under unlawful activities. We have protested the video conferencing and during trial we
will take objection to such practice”. Those SIMI activists who were to be produced in ADJ BS Bhadauria court include Dr Abu Faizal, Shaikh Munjib, Iqrar Shaikh from Mandsaur and Aslam and Abdullah was produced from Khandwa. All are facing attempt to murder case under section 307 of IPC and various sections of Unlawful Activities Act.
Those who were to be produced in court of CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari included Khalid Ahmed, Irfan Nagori, Amaan, Irfan Muchhale, Ismail, Mohammed Sadiq, Umar, Abdul Aziz, Wahid, Mohammed Adil and Javed Nagori.
Abu Faisal, was arrested from Barwani on December 24, Khalid Ahmed, Sadik, Irfan, and Umar were arrested on December 26, from Solapur in Maharasthra, later, four other alleged SIMI operatives identified as Javed Nagori, Abdul Aziz, Mohammed Adil and Abdul Wahid were arrested on December 31 from Ujjain last year.
