No double room, taxis for Babus during foreign trips

Bhopal: The State Finance department has curtailed the facilities and expenses to be borne on Babus’ foreign tour by issuing new directives and said they will have to stay in single bed room during trip and not in double bedroom. Finance department will permit bill of single rooms only. Besides, the department said, government officers drawing AGP below Rs 10,000 will have to use public transport in foreign visit.

Taxi fare will be provided to government officials drawing salary scale of Rs 10,000 AGP. The government will pay only taxi fare from hotel to airport and vice versa and not halt charges. All India service officers will be entitled to travel in economy class and in case of visit of a city abroad, only bill of three days stay will be permitted. Adopting austerity measures, the department asked all government offices to get permission for foreign tours in advance with showing its need and use for the department. The department which does not have fund for foreign visit would not send the proposal for foreign tour for their staffers.
