Government offices to remain closed in afternoon
BHOPAL: Prime minister Narendra Modi is arriving in the city on Friday to inaugurate ‘Shaurya Smarak’. Modi will also address ‘Shaurya Samman Sabha’ at Lal Parade Ground. He will be accompanied by defence minister Manohar Parikkar.
The state government, in view of Modi’s visit, has announced half day holiday in all government offices in Bhopal. Several schools have also announced holiday as school buses have been requisitioned by the administration. Moreover, the buses may face problems reaching the schools due to traffic diversions.
The shops falling on the route of Modi’s carcade will be shut down after noon. On Thursday, heavy police force was deployed in the city. Policemen are guarding the route from the state hanger to Lal Parade Ground, Habibganj Jain Temple and Shaurya Smarak. A policeman has been posted every 100 metres on the route to be used by Modi’s carcade.
Modi will leave Delhi at 2.50 pm and reach Bhopal airport at 4.05 pm. He would reach Lal Parade Ground at 4.30 pm. He would address ex-servicemen and ‘Shaurya Samman Sabha’ at the Ground between 4.30 pm and 5.20 pm. Modi will leave Lal Parade Ground at 5.25 pm for Jain Mandir, Habibganj, where he would meet Acharya Vidhyasagar. Modi will leave for ‘Shaurya Smarak’ at 5.50 pm and inaugurate it at 6 pm. He would leave for Bhopal Airport at 6.35 pm and fly for Panaji (Goa) at 7.05 pm.
