Mumbai Police Arrests Main Accused In Rs 1.91 Cr Bhopal's Jewellery Robbery Case

Following the jeweller’s complaint, the Agripada police registered a case of robbery and began their investigation.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Mumbai Police has arrested Vinod Lakhan Pal, the main accused in the robbery of gold and silver items worth Rs 1.91 crore from a jewellery shop in the Agripada area.

The incident occurred on December 29, when Pal and another accomplice, pretending to be customers, brandished a gun and knife, tied up the shop owner and staff, assaulted them, and fled with the jewellery.

Following the jeweller’s complaint, the Agripada police registered a case of robbery and began their investigation.

They examined CCTV footage from the area and sought technical support, which eventually led them to Niwari district, where Pal was arrested on the night of January 1. Pal, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, had been previously arrested in a separate case four years ago. The Mumbai Police coordinated with local authorities in Niwari to apprehend the accused.

The New Year brought joy to 82 mobile phone owners in Bhopal as the police in Zone-2 successfully traced and returned their lost devices on Thursday.

This recovery follows an earlier effort by the police, where 132 mobile phones worth Rs 35 lakh were also traced and returned to their rightful owners. DCP Zone-2 Sanjay Agarwal had set up dedicated teams to recover lost mobile phones.

Based on complaints registered at various police stations, including Bag Seonia, Misrod, Govindpura, Ayodhya Nagar, Piplani, MP Nagar, Arera Hills, Katara Hills, and Awadhpuri, the police were able to recover the 82 phones. The complainants were called to their respective police stations and their phones were returned to them. DCP Agarwal confirmed that the recovered mobile phones were valued at Rs 25 lakh, and all were successfully returned to the owners.
