Around 2.5 lakh students were to appear in exam
BHOPAL : The Maths Question Paper of class twelve examination of MPBSE lleaked on Monday, forcing the board officials to cancel the paper, which will not be held on April 12. The board officials said they will announce the date officially on Tuesday. The question paper of higher mathematics was leaked in Gwalior and Vidisha as per official information.
However, sources said it was leaked across the state and sold in streets some hours before it was to take place in the morning. “ The board officials got information about paper leak in the midnight from regional officer, of Gwalior who sent the copy of hand- written question paper, through email but the higher- ups waited till the exam began to compare it with the original paper,” said sources.
“ In the morning, a team of subject experts opened the strong room to cross- check the copy of the ‘ leaked’ question paper with the original one and found that it matched around 80 percent. It concluded that the paper had leaked,” said the sources.
In all 2.5 lakh students of higher mathematics subject were informed about the board’s decision to cancel the examination even as they already had already reached the examination hall and had even started attempting the paper.
Board officials issued instructions to district collectors to submit report and file FIR in two places Gwalior and Vidisha where there were reports about the paper leak. They also informed the state school education department and minister Paras Jain.
Board secretary Pushpalata Singh said: “ The board had taken the decision to cancel the examination and will announce the new date on Tuesday.”
