According to information, the incident came to light in the evening when Nisha’s husband, Sumit Sahu, came home from work. The door was locked from inside, so Sumit called his brother-in-law.

Together, they broke the door and found Nisha and both daughters lying unconscious inside the house. With the help of neighbors and relatives, they took all three to the hospital, where doctors said that little Namrata had died. Nisha and Amrita are still in the hospital.

At the hospital, injured Amrita told doctors that her mother hit her with a pan. Amrita fell from the stairs and got a head injury. Amrita also said that her mother beat little Namrata very badly, which led to her death.

A neighbour, Shailendra Karosiya, said there was loud noise from a mixer machine at a nearby construction site, so no one heard the cries of the children. He also said that Nisha and her husband often had fights at home.

Kotwali police station in-charge Umesh Golhani said that early information points to family fights as the reason for this incident.
