Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth she once considered a friend on Monday in Gwalior.
The incident took place in the Janakganj police station area of Gwalior.
The accused, Rohit Kushwaha, a resident of Gudha-Gudhi Ka Naka, has been arrested by the police after the girl filed a complaint.
She said that about a year ago, she had met the accused during a wedding function. They became friends after he approached her, and she accepted his friendship.
Over time, Rohit's behavior changed. He started talking about love and made the girl uncomfortable. Four months ago, she stopped talking to him. Despite this, he continued to roam near her house and tried to get in touch with her.
Around five days ago, Rohit sent her a message through someone else, saying he just wanted to meet once and promised not to bother her again. The girl agreed. When she came outside to meet him, Rohit asked her to sit on his bike. She refused, but he forced her onto the bike and took her to a roadside dhaba. There, he raped her and later dropped her near her home.
The girl, a Class 10 student from Gupteshwar Colony Bypass, visited the police station with her family to report the incident.
After remaining silent for three days due to fear, finally told her family, who took her to the police.
Rohit has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
