Satna (Madhya Pradesh): The election outcome in Nagod assembly constituency is not clear, since Congress and BJP candidates are facing a tough challenge from rebels, contesting as independents or from the BSP.

The rebels are set to impact the poll outcome for the two national parties in Nagod.

Nevertheless, such internal squabbling is not something new in Nagod. It has been going on for more than 15 years. When the election results are out, things are settled.

Gagnendra Singh who sought a ticket from the BJP is unhappy with the party leadership who did not field him from this constituency.

He was initially the only candidate from the party, so his expectations for a ticket were very high, but the party leadership fielded over 80-year-old Nagendra Singh.

Singh has raised his voice against the party candidate. Another leader of the party Rishav Singh aka Chhotu is supporting Gagnendra Singh.

Yadvendra challenges Cong candidate

Former Congress leader Yadvendra Singh who was aspiring for a ticket from the party challenged MPCC president Kamal Nath.

Yadvendra, who has got a ticket from the BSP, is pulling all the stops to ensure the defeat of the Congress candidates.

Gagnendra Singh may spoil the chances of the BJP candidate, and Yadvendra may damage the Congress candidate.

In the last election, Congress candidate Rashmi Singh got 25,000 votes, so the party fielded her from the Nagod constituency.

Sandhya Kushwaha opens front

A member of district Panchayat Sandhya Kushwaha, who is also part of the MPCC executive committee, has reportedly opened a front against the party candidate from Nagod, sources said.

Since she has influence over the Kushwaha community, she may damage the chances of the party candidate.

Therefore, both parties should douse the flames of internal fighting.
