Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Congress state president Jitu Patwari and former minister P.C. Sharma arrived at the Madhya Pradesh Assembly late Thursday to question why it was kept open beyond regular hours.
They met Principal Secretary Arvind Sharma, raising concerns that the late session aims to terminate Datia MLA Rajendra Bharti’s membership despite the court allowing time to file an appeal.
Patwari said such actions undermine democratic norms and appear politically motivated. The leaders warned that the Assembly must follow judicial timelines and procedural safeguards, emphasizing legislators’ rights and fairness ahead of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
