Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The state is experiencing a significant weather shift channelised by light showers, strong thunderstorm and hailstorm. The Indian meteorological department has issued rain alert in several districts including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior for the next few days with the wind-speed potentially reaching up to 50 km/h.

Multiple systems active in the state

According to the weather department, the shift in weather is caused due to several systems getting activated simultaneously in Madhya Pradesh. A western disturbance is active in the form of a trough near Pakistan, combined with a cyclonic circulation over central Maharashtra and a trough extending from Saurashtra to the central Arabian Sea. Due to the effect of these systems, moisture is coming from the Arabian Sea, because of which it is raining in various districts of the state.

Many districts received rainfall

According to IMD, several districts received rainfall on Sunday, where Khargone recorded 16 mm of rainfall, followed by Naugaon and Sagar with 2 mm of rainfall, while Indore recorded 0.4 mm rain and Bhopal's Misrod area also received showers.

After May 14, the weather is expected to gradually clear, but the temperature may hike, due to which heat and humidity are likely to increase.

Temperature and Humidity Concerns
