MP March 1 Weather Updates: Winter Officially Bids Goodbye; Heatwaves To Be Felt After March 14

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): March has brought significant heat to Madhya Pradesh, as cities like Bhopal, Indore felt heat as the sun came up, on Saturday. The state will start experiencing heat waves from March 15, with temperatures expected to be 2 to 3 degrees higher than normal during both day and night. 

The Gwalior and Chambal regions will be the hottest, while Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain may witness unseasonal rain (Mawtha).

Weather expected on Saturday

Daytime temperatures in Bhopal, Indore, and several other cities may rise by 2 to 3 degrees.

What do meteorologists say?

According to information, summer has knocked the doors with the beginning of March. The Meteorological Department has predicted that 15 to 20 days of heatwaves will occur between March and May. However, April and May will be even hotter, with 30 to 35 days of extreme heat expected.

According to IMD Bhopal’s senior scientist Dr. Divya E. Surendran, hot winds will blow for about five days in March. After March 15, when temperatures cross 40°C, the heatwave impact will become more noticeable.

The Western Disturbance set to become active from March 2 may cause light rainfall in parts of Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions. Residents in these regions should expect occasional cloud cover and drizzles during this period.

Weather expected on Sunday

On March 2, the heat will continue to be felt, with warm weather conditions persisting.

After Holi, the temperatures are expected to rise even more. In Gwalior, Chambal, Ujjain, and Indore, daytime temperatures may exceed 40°C, making the heat more intense. Residents are advised to take precautions as the summer season intensifies.

However, March may bring unseasonal rain (Mawtha). This year, multiple Western Disturbances are expected to be active, leading to light rain and cloudy weather in some areas.
