MP June 6 Weather Update: Stormy Streak In State To Continue Till June 9; Rain, Winds Hit 45 Districts

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh's stormy weather is set to continue till June 9, as the state faces rain and strong winds for the 42nd day in a row.

The weather department has issued a storm and rain alert for 45 districts, including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur. Winds could blow at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour.

This weather is expected to continue for the next four days, till June 9. After that, the monsoon is likely to enter the state.

Weather Forecast

June 7: Strong winds and light rain expected in Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Indore, Dhar, Barwani, Jhabua, and Alirajpur.

June 8: Same alert for Indore, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Dhar, and Barwani.

June 9: Ujjain, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Khargone, Khandwa, and Burhanpur may see strong winds and rainfall.

Why This Weather?

According to Senior Weather Scientist Dr. Divya E. Surendran, two cyclonic circulations and a western disturbance are currently active. Due to this, stormy and rainy conditions are happening. This pattern will continue till June 9.

Experts say cyclonic systems and troughs are causing this weather. Slight rise in temperatures and humidity is expected during the day and night. Monsoon may enter Madhya Pradesh between June 7 and 10.

Bhopal Weather: Heat Likely till June 15

In Bhopal, June usually brings both heat and rain. In the last 10 years, the first half of June remained extremely hot. In four years, temperatures even crossed 45°C. The lowest night temperature reached 17.4°C. The highest rainfall in June was 16 inches in 2020.

In 2024, Bhopal recorded 10.9 inches of rainfall during the month, which was the second highest in the last 10 years. Around 5 inches of rain fell in just 24 hours during one instance.
