MP July 5 Weather Updates: Heavy Rain In Narmadapuram, Vidisha & Other Areas; Expect Lightning, Thunderstorm In Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Several parts of Madhya Pradesh are experiencing heavy rainfall, leading to flood-like conditions in some districts.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for Saturday in 7 districts, including Jabalpur, Vidisha, Sagar, Ashoknagar, Narsinghpur, Raisen, and Mandla. There is also a warning for lightning in these areas.

Weather expected on Saturday

On July 5 heavy rain is expected in Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Katni, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Vidisha, Sehore, Raisen, and Narmadapuram.

Along with this, lightning and thunderstorm activity may occur in Bhopal, Ujjain, Ashoknagar, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Umaria, Dewas, Sagar, Betul, Vidisha, Khargone, Khandwa, Shajapur, and Anuppur.

Moderate rain is expected in many districts including Dindori. Other districts may receive light rainfall.

What do meteorologists say?

The monsoon trough is currently active and extends at mean sea level from Bikaner, Jaipur, Datia, and Sidhi to Asansol and Kolkata, reaching the northeastern Bay of Bengal in a southeastward direction.

A cyclonic circulation is also active over eastern Uttar Pradesh and nearby regions at an altitude of 1.5 km. Another cyclonic circulation is present over the northern parts of Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas at around 5.8 km above sea level, tilting southward with height.

Additionally, a trough extends from north Gujarat across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand, reaching the cyclonic system over Gangetic West Bengal at about 3.1 km altitude. These weather systems are influencing the monsoon activity across central and eastern India.

Weather expected in next 2 days

July 6: Heavy rain is expected in Bhopal, Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, Tikamgarh, Chhindwara, Seoni, Raisen, and Rewa.
Rain will continue in many districts, and some may experience thunder and lightning as well.

July 7: Jabalpur, Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, Raisen, Narsinghpur, and Chhindwara are likely to receive heavy rain with thunder and lightning.
Rain alerts are also issued for Shivpuri, Ujjain, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Narmadapuram, Bhopal, Betul, Chhatarpur, Guna, and Umaria.
Some areas in Dindori may also face heavy rain.
