MP July 25 Weather Update: Flood-Like Situation In Many Areas; Red Alert In Sehore, Harda & More

The weather department has issued Red Alert for 5 districts, Orange Alert for 19 districts, and Yellow Alert for 18 districts.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A strong weather system has become active in Madhya Pradesh in the last week of July. On Friday, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in many parts of the state.

The weather department has issued Red Alert for 5 districts, Orange Alert for 19 districts, and Yellow Alert for 18 districts.

Weather Today

Raisen received 2.3 inches of rain.

Seoni got 1.6 inches.

Pachmarhi saw 1.5 inches, and Bhopal recorded over 1 inch.

Datia, Shivpuri, and Sagar received around half an inch.

Rain also occurred in Betul, Ujjain, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Vidisha, and Balaghat.

July 26 Weather

On Thursday, flood-like situations occurred in many districts including Ashoknagar, Vidisha, and Shivpuri. In Shivpuri, two girls and a woman were swept away in strong water flow; the woman died. In Ashoknagar’s Mungaoli, a 2.5-year-old boy was swept away in a drain and is still missing.

In Vidisha, a pregnant woman had to be pulled across a bridge using a rope to reach the hospital safely.

July 27 Weather

Red Alert districts: Sehore, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Chhindwara, and Pandhurna may receive extremely heavy rain.

Orange Alert districts: Areas like Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Bhopal, Sagar, Damoh, Katni, Jabalpur, and more are expected to get very heavy rain.

Yellow Alert districts: Places including Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Neemuch, and Alirajpur may receive heavy rain.

In Mungaoli (Ashoknagar), 4 hours of continuous heavy rain caused streets to flood with up to 4 feet of water. In Sironj (Vidisha), a car was swept away from a bridge. Locals saved the passengers using a rope and tractor.

In Gyaraspur, a pregnant woman got stuck as water flowed over a small bridge. She was rescued by police and home guard officers using ropes.

In Shivpuri's Pichhore area, a group of 15 people walking to a temple was caught in a strong water stream. A woman died, and two girls were saved by family members.

Two gates of the Madikheda dam in Shivpuri were opened due to high water. In Barna dam (Raisen), four gates were opened releasing 10,000 cusecs of water.
