Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Several districts in Madhya Pradesh experienced cold day-like conditions on Saturday.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold conditions are expected to intensify in the coming days as icy winds pick up speed. Dense fog is likely to continue across the state for the next three days.

Shivpuri was the coldest place in the state, with the daytime temperature dropping to 19°C. Other regions also recorded low temperatures, including Damoh (20°C), Khajuraho (22.2°C), Narsinghpur (22.6°C), and Rewa-Pachmarhi (23°C).

Among major cities, Gwalior was the coldest with a daytime temperature of 21°C. Bhopal recorded 25.6°C, Jabalpur 25°C, Indore 27.9°C, and Ujjain 29°C.

In the morning, dense fog was reported in several districts, including Gwalior, Shivpuri, Morena, Datia, Bhind, Chhatarpur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Mandsaur, and Tikamgarh. Visibility dropped to as low as 50-100 meters in some areas, causing disruptions.

The fog also delayed flights to and from Indore. The Bengaluru-Indore flight, scheduled to arrive at 7:15 AM, was delayed by two hours and landed at 9:16 AM. Similarly, the Indore-Delhi flight, which was supposed to take off at 6:55 AM, departed at 8:27 AM due to foggy conditions in Delhi.

Weather Forecast

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold conditions are expected to intensify in the coming days as icy winds pick up speed. Dense fog is likely to continue across the state for the next three days.

Earlier, a western disturbance and a trough in the easterlies caused temperatures to rise slightly in some areas, but the rise is expected to be temporary. IMD predicts the cold will return, with temperatures expected to drop further after a couple of days.

On Saturday, Bhopal’s maximum temperature was recorded at 27.9°C, slightly above normal, while the minimum temperature was 13.4°C, four degrees above normal. IMD officials have warned of continued cold conditions, with gradual changes in temperatures expected in Central India over the next few days.
