MP January 14 Weather Update: Cold Snap Tightens Grip As Temperature Dips; Chilly Winds Add To Misery

Bhopal recorded a 3°C drop in daytime temperature, reaching 18.8°C, and a 4.4°C dip in night-time temperature, settling at 10.0°C.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is in grip of a biting cold wave, as temperatures continued to fall sharply across the state for the second consecutive day on Monday. Day and night temperatures have dropped significantly, causing widespread discomfort. Bhopal recorded a 3°C drop in daytime temperature, reaching 18.8°C, and a 4.4°C dip in night-time temperature, settling at 10.0°C.

Indore also saw a drop of 2.9°C in daytime temperature, reaching 19.5°C, while the night temperature fell by 5.9°C to 7.6°C. Other districts likeRaisen, Ratlam, and Dhar experienced significant temperature drop, with Raisen recording a 4.6°C decrease, Ratlam 4.3°C, and Dhar a 4.8°C dip in daytime temperatures.

Seoni witnessed the biggest drop, with a 5.2°C decrease. Rainfall was recorded in isolated areas of Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Shahdol, Sagar, and Rewa divisions over the last 24 hours. The cold weather has led to Cold Day conditions in Shajapur, Guna, and Sehore, while ‘Severe Cold Day’ conditions have prevailed in Rajgarh.

Temperature drops have been observed across several districts, including Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Gwalior, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar, Indore, and Jabalpur divisions, with minimum temperature falling in Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, and Ujjain divisions.

Weather alert issued

Weather Alert An alert has been issued for moderate fog with Cold Day conditions expected in Guna, Satna, Shajapur, Umaria, and Damoh districts. Moreover, moderate fog is likely in Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, and Maihar districts. In Raisen district, shallow to moderate fog with cold day conditions are expected. Meanwhile, shallow to moderate fog is predicted in Bhopal, Vidisha, Sehore, and Rajgarh districts.

The biting cold, compounded by chilly winds, has forced people to stay indoors even during the daytime, while dense fog has affected visibility during the morning hours.
