MP: Heavy traffic on Betul-Nagpur National Highway as Mancha river overflowing

According to reports, the bridge situated near Shahpur area of Betul district was water logged and as a result the highway was closed.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The heavy rainfall has hindered the traffic on Betul-Nagpur national highway as Mancha river was overflowing, an official said on Wednesday.

According to reports, the bridge situated near Shahpur area of Betul district was water logged and as a result the highway was closed. The bridge is comparatively of small height and as soon as the heavy rains occurred in the area, the traffic on the highway used to get hindered.

Superintendent of Police (SP Betul) Simala Prasad told Free Press, “Because of heavy rains the traffic on the bridge was stopped on Tuesday night. The traffic was, however, restored in the early hours of Wednesday when the water released. But again due to heavy rains in the morning, the water started overflowing over the bridge and the traffic was stopped”.

As soon as the water gets released and the situation tends normal, the traffic will be restored, She added.
