Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is experiencing cold weather again as icy winds from North India sweep across the state.

On Thursday, strong winds blew at speeds of 34 to 36 km per hour in Indore and other cities, nearly four times faster than usual.

For the first time in February, the day temperature dropped below 22 degrees Celsius in several cities, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Jabalpur.

Weather Predictions

Weather officials predict a further drop of 2-3 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures over the next three days. However, a fresh western disturbance is expected to impact North India from February 8, which will gradually increase the temperature while keeping the day temperature near normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, similar weather is expected on Friday. However, temperatures may rise by 2-3 degrees from Saturday. Weather expert V.S. Yadav explained that since Wednesday, wind direction has shifted to the north, bringing cold winds from the snow-covered regions of North India.

On Thursday, Bhopal recorded wind speeds of 18 to 20 km per hour, while Indore Airport reported speeds of 34 to 35 km per hour. Normally, wind speeds remain between 6 to 8 km per hour. The strong winds will continue on Friday, keeping the chill in the air.
