Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The body of a woman missing since Monday night was found in a well close to her house under Itkhedi police station limits on Tuesday night. The woman had left home after a scuffle with her husband.
Body has been handed over to woman’s kin after autopsy and further investigation is underway, police said. As per reports, resident of Dobra village, Priti Rawat (21) was married to Karan Singh in 2022. The family used to live in their shanty in the fields.
Sub Inspector Vijay Singh Bhati said primary investigations revealed that Karan Singh was alcoholic and returned home in an inebriated state on Monday night. The duo had an altercation when Priti objected to Karan’s drinking. After a scuffle Priti left home in a fit of rage.
The next day Karan and other members of the family launched a search for Priti but to no avail. On Tuesday night, Karan spotted Priti’s slippers near a well. He peeped inside the well where he spotted Priti’s body.
Other family members also reached the spot and called police. Body was taken out and sent for autopsy, SI added. Priti’s kin said Karan was addicted to alcohol and often scuffled with her.
