Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is currently experiencing extreme heat, with heatwave alerts issued for multiple districts. The Meteorological Department has issued heatwave alerts for 21 districts across the state on Thursday, including Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Neemuch, and others.

In these areas, temperatures are soaring above 42°C, and dry, hot winds are expected to continue.

However, there is a possibility of rainfall in various districts on April 26.

Heatwave alert has been issued for the following districts: Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Narmadapuram, Betul, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Umaria, Satna, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari.

Other districts will also experience intense heat.

What do meteorologists say?

The weather experts said that regions like Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Sagar will also face intense heat on April 24 - 25. Rainfall is expected later in parts of eastern and southern Madhya Pradesh, providing some relief.

At present, districts of Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Narmadapuram, Betul, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Umaria, Satna, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari are experiencing extreme heat. 

Meanwhile, in other districts like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, the heat will remain intense, with temperatures likely to rise above 42°C.

Weather expected in next two days

Heatwave alert continues for Gwalior, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Pandhurna, Balaghat, Umaria, Satna, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Bhind, Sheopur, and Morena on April 25.

Hot and dry winds will affect other districts as well.

On April 26, the heatwave may continue in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Satna, and other districts. However, there is a chance of light rain in Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, and Pandhurna on April 26–27, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Temperature records

On Wednesday, Ratlam recorded the highest temperature at 44.2°C. Other cities like Narmadapuram, Khajuraho, Mandla, Seoni, and Narsinghpur also reported temperatures above 42°C. Major cities such as Indore (41°C), Ujjain (41.7°C), Gwalior (41.2°C), and Bhopal (40.6°C) experienced severe heat.
