History-sheeter held in another incident
BHOPAL: Two bike-borne miscreants looted a 32-year-old property dealer at knife-point snatching away his mobile and cash in front of BSNL office under Govindpura police station on Wednesday.The incident took place at around 11:30pm on Wednesday as the victim was returning home riding bike after attending a marriage ceremony and as he stopped near BSNL office to receive a phone call, two youths allegedly beat him up and after committing the loot, fled. The victim reached at Govindpura police station and lodged a case of loot. Police said that as of now an FIR was lodged and efforts were on to arrest those miscreants.
Police said Vaibhav Nagar, 32, of Gautam Nagar, a property dealer lost cash amount Rs 5,000 and Samsung mobile worth Rs 6,000 to the looters.Due to darkness, the victim failed to notice the registration number of the miscreants’ bike.Meanwhile, in another incident under the same police station, a habitual criminal who snatched away purse from a 21-year-old MBA student near Bharti Niketan on March 13 was nabbed.
The arrested Vikram Khadka (26) of Janta Quarter was a history sheeter under Govindpura police station. The victim Shivani Mehra, 21, of Bharti Niketan was robbed of her purse on Tuesday at around 11:30 am while she was on her way to college.
The police had registered a case under Section 392 of the IPC and the arrested accused he was later produced in the court from where he was sent to jail.
