Expressing condolences for Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ramcharan Gautam, CM Yadav took to social media platform X to emphasise on his commitment to law and order.

He announced that Section 163 has been imposed in the area, and senior police officials, including the DIG of Rewa and SP of Mauganj, have been deployed to manage the situation. The injured police personnel have been shifted to Rewa Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred in Gadara village, Shahpur police station area, when a police team, along with a Tehsildar and SHO, responded to a dispute between two groups. However, the situation escalated, and the villagers turned aggressive, attacking the officers with sticks and stones. Tragically, ASI Ramcharan Gautam lost his life in the retaliatory action.
