Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A man was brutally assaulted in public after he objected to the youths allegedly molesting his daughter in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district.
The assault was captured in a video, which is going viral on Monday. In the video, a man can be seen throwing a rock at the victim repeatedly.
According to information, the incident took place at Barrier Square in Morena. The victim, identified as Rambaran Kushwaha, runs a puncture repair shop and resides in Kasapura village.
He was attacked by four youths with sticks and stones, which left him critically injured.
The accused - identified as Dharmveer Gurjar, Ranjeet Gurjar, Bhura Gurjar, and Monu Gurjar from Gudha village - allegedly misbehaved with Rambaran’s daughter two days ago at his shop. When Rambaran opposed the act, a heated altercation took place between both parties. A local panchayat attempted to settle the matter the following day.
However, on Sunday evening, the same group intercepted Rambaran at Barrier Square and launched a violent assault. A bystander recorded the incident, in which the attackers are seen knocking Rambaran to the ground and repeatedly striking him with rocks. The attack left him unconscious.
Family members arrived at the scene upon receiving information and rushed the victim to the police station, from where he was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that the incident appears to be rooted in an ongoing dispute. Station in-charge Deependra Yadav stated that statements have been recorded and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.
"Strict action will be taken against those responsible," he added.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing.
