Man applies for passport using fake rent agreement; held

BHOPAL: The Ashoka Garden police, on Thursday, arrested a person for producing fake rent agreement at passport office while applying for his passport and booked him on the charge of fraud. The fraud came to light when the police reached at the given address of the accused for verification. Police said that using fake documents, the accused got made a rent agreement of the house of another person and later also voter ID card.

The arrested accused was identified as Arvind Pathak, who basically hails from Lalitpur and currently was residing in city at one of the relatives’ house.The accused got made the rent agreement of a house located at Indraprasth Colony and owned by Hari Singh Patel, who works at Passport Office. Later the accused applied for passport and produced that agreement as residence proof.

But during verification of address proof it came into light that the accused got made rental agreement without knowledge of House owner Hari Singh. Subsequently police lodged a case of fraud and took the accused into custody.
