Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A grand tribute procession was organised in Tutiyaheri village of Sarangpur, Rajgarh district, to honour Agniveer Hariom Nagar (22), who was martyred in an avalanche in Leh, Ladakh on Sunday.
The young soldier’s body arrived in the village wrapped in the national flag, and was received with military honours. Local leaders and officials also joined the villagers in offering floral tributes.
Hariom had joined the army just a year ago and was known in his village for his dedication and discipline. His final rites were performed with full state and military honours.
Hariom, son of Durgaprasad Nagar, was serving in the Indian Army under the Agniveer scheme. His sacrifice left the entire village in grief, but also pride.
As news of his martyrdom spread, hundreds of villagers gathered to participate in the funeral procession, holding flags and chanting slogans of patriotism to pay their respects.
Final Farewell
The body of soldier Hariom Nagar was brought to Bhopal by flight on Monday. From where it was brought to Pachor on Monday night by an army vehicle.
On Tuesday, his body was brought to Tutiyaheri from Pachor with pomp and show. The last rite has been performed with military honors and guard of honor.
70 jawans along with police force from other police stations were put on duty to make parking arrangements and security arrangements.
Jawan Hariom had come home on leave a week ago
Jawan Hariom was selected in the army through Agniveer Yojana a year ago. He had come home on leave a week ago. Hariom's father Durgaprasad Nagar is a farmer in the village itself.
Elder brother Balchand Nagar works in a private company. The family also includes mother Kala Bai and grandfather Pannalal Nagar.
An atmosphere of mourning in the family and village
There is an atmosphere of mourning in Hariom's family and village due to the news of his martyrdom. Villagers and relatives have started coming to martyr Hariom's house.
Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad Vice President Mohan Nagar met the martyr's family on Monday. He consoled the family. He described Hariom's sacrifice as the pride of the country. He said that this is a matter of pride for the region.
