Madhya Pradesh Women T-20 Cricket Premier League Begins; Kshipra Vikings, Narmada Falcons Win Matches

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh women T-20 cricket premier league began with two matches at Cricket Academy in the city on Sunday. The first match was played between Kshipra Vikings and Sindh Maverick in which Sindh Maverick won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Batting first, Kshipra Vikings scored 124 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 17 overs.

From their side, captain Anushka Sharma played a brilliant innings of 46 runs, Vansika also contributed 30 runs. Sharma was selected as the Player of the Match for her brilliant batting. She was felicitated by former IPL player Mohnish Mishra.

The second match of the day was played between Narmada Falcons and Betwa Titans, in which Narmada Falcons batted first and scored 100 runs in 15 overs with the help of Rishita Parihar's 54 runs and Nikita Singh's 33 runs.

While bowling from Betwa Titans' side, Khushi Yadav and Swati took 1-1 wicket each. Parihar was given the Player of the Match award for her brilliant 53 run. The tournament was inaugurated by BDCA president Dhruv Narayan Singh.

A total of five teams are participating in the league, which was organised for the first time. The teams have been named after MP rivers like Betwa Titus, Sindh Maverick, Narmada Falcon, Kshipra Viking and Chambal Spartan.

Neeru Dhanda Strikes Gold In Shotgun Trap At National Games

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Neeru Dhanda from Madhya Pradesh bagged a gold medal in the women’s shotgun trap shooting event at the National Games 2025 held in Uttarakhand on Sunday. The 25-year-old shooter, hailing from Shivpuri, has earlier clinched gold in the same event at the 2022 National Games.

Dhanda, who trains at the Madhya Pradesh Sports Academy, has also competed at the World Championships in Osijek, Croatia, in 2022, marking her a prominent athlete in shooting sports. Madhya Pradesh continues to shine at the National Games, securing a total of 51 medals – 20 gold, 13 silver, and 18 bronze – to remain in the top 4 states in the medal tally.

State athletes also competed in various other events on Sunday, including shooting (shotgun), fencing, gymnastics, athletics, modern pentathlon, judo, and wrestling.
