Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In an alleged suicide pact, a 19-Year-old girl and a 22-year old youth jumped in front of a speeding train and died in Jabalpur district on Thursday.

The incident occurred at village Jhanjha Bandha under Gosalpur police station. Police sources said that the girl and the youth were in a relationship. The girl had reportedly informed her family members about her relationship, but they fixed her marriage with another youth. The wedding was scheduled on June 6.

The girl has been identified as Usha Dahiya, a resident of Jhanjha Bandha and the youth has been identified as Durgesh Barman, 22, a resident of village Algonda.

Police sources said that the girl was frequently visiting the village Algonda where her maternal uncles live. Durgesh was living in the neighborhood of the girl's maternal uncles.

The duo fell into love and wanted to get married. But, their family members were not ready to accept their relationship, sources said.

According to information, the girl had left her house at 6.30AM. When she didn’t return, the family members lodged a missing person complaint at Gosalpur police station.

Investigation officer, Sanjay Bhalavi said that police were informed by a railway trackman about the mutilated bodies lying on track. Later, family members were informed, who subsequently reached the spot and identified the girl. “A case has been registered and investigation is on,” he said.
