Sagar (Madhya Pradesh): The transport department has told the bus operators to identify the shortcomings found on the buses during a checking conducted by the department.

They have also been told to remove those flaws. The directive was issued at a meeting with the officials of the transport department and operators of passenger and school buses.

The meeting was held in the auditorium of the transport department in Sagar on Friday. Regional transport officer Manoj Tehenguriya said that the meeting was held following instructions from collector Sandeep GR.

According to Tehenguriya, the bus operators were told to make arrangements for opening the emergency.

The emergency is not opening, and a seat has been installed, he said. The bus conductors and drivers should be in uniform, but during the checking many of them were found without uniforms, he said.

The bus operators said they would follow the instructions.

They were also told to do the physical verification of their vehicles. Tehenguriya told the school bus operators to follow the safety measures prescribed for students.

The RTO is going to check school buses after June 15, and any negligence about the security of students will be taken seriously, Tehenguriya said.
