Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): With the end of the Raksha Bandhan festival, trains are once again crowded as people return to their workplaces.

Railways will run a special unreserved train between Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi and Mathura from August 15 to 17 to help passengers during the Janmashtami rush.

The train will leave Jhansi at 2:45 pm, reach Gwalior at 5:23 pm, and then stop at Morena, Dholpur, and Agra Cantt before arriving at Mathura Junction at 7:30 pm. It will be fully general class, making it easier for passengers without reservations to travel during the festival period.

This decision comes soon after the Raksha Bandhan festival, which saw heavy crowds in trains as people returned to their workplaces.

Many major trains are currently running with long waiting lists, causing trouble for passengers. Officials have said more special trains may be announced to manage the high demand during the festive season.

Along with this, ahead of Independence Day, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have been placed on high alert at Gwalior and other major stations.

Station in-charges have been told to increase patrolling, keep watch on suspicious people, and take steps to ensure passenger safety.

Special focus will be on the safety of women, children, and general travellers, with security personnel also deployed in plain clothes at stations.
