Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh): Shivratri fair in Pachmarhi, which began from February 17, will continue till February 26. People from different parts of MP, Maharashtra and other states have flocked to the fair being held at Chauragarh Mahadev and Jatashankar. Nearly 50,000 devotees have so far visited the fair, and this number is increasing.
Devotees are reaching Chauragarh via Nadia junction. To take stock of the arrangements at the fair, additional district magistrate of Narmadapuram DK Singh and secretary of Mahadev Mela Committee Anisha Srivastava, SDM of Pipariya (trainee IAS) inspected the fair area.

Tehsildar Vaibhav Bairagi, CEO of SADA Neeraj Srivastava, AD Satpura Tiger Reserve Sanjeev Sharma, and other officials were also present during the inspection. The officials walked up to Mahadev, Gupt Mahadev, Sita Nahani from Beed area, Nadia Junction and Chauragarh site to inspect the arrangements. Also, instructions were issued to ensure the presence of doctors in the medical camps to help the devotees. Instructions were also issued to the police officers to maintain smooth traffic and movements on the occasion.
The officials were asked to ensure water supply and cleanliness at the fair site. Srivastava advised the shopkeepers to use eco-friendly bamboo dustbins to protect the environment. A control room has been set up in Pachmarhi tehsil from where senior officials are monitoring all the arrangements for the fair.
