Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): BJP leaders, waiting for political appointments, may have to wait for some time more.  The party has put off political appointments till the election of the new state president and formation of the new team. The central leaders of the party held talks with their state counterparts about the appointments in corporations and boards.

The central leaders have given consent on some names for such appointments. Now, both government and organisation have stopped these appointments.

After Mohan Yadav took over as Chief Minister, all political appointments were cancelled in February last year.  Some party leaders have been trying for such appointments since then. Cancelled political appointments were to be made after the Lok Sabha elections.

But it was put off because of the party’s membership drive after which organisational elections have started. Even after organisational elections, the political appointments have been put off till the election of the new state president and formation of the executive committee.

Several leaders – from former ministers to former chairmen of corporations and Boards and some members of the organisation – are aspiring for political posts. These leaders are even pleading with the central leadership in Delhi for such appointments.

Retired officers, RSS functionaries get posts

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has given political positions to some people in the past one year. Retired officers have been given such appointments. Former additional chief secretary (ACS) Manoj Shrivastava has been appointed State Election Commissioner.

Retired IAS officer Mukesh Shukla has been appointed member of the Administrative Reforms Commission.

Similarly, a retired IPS officer Vijay Yadav was appointed Chief Information Commissioner in the State Information Commission. Former director of culture department Shriram Tiwari has been appointed CM’s cultural advisor.
