Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state police are identifying people holding Pakistani visas living in the state. Such people are being asked to leave the state, as per the Centre’s directives following the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

A senior officer at the police headquarters said to the Free Press that, following the Central guidelines, an exit permit has been issued to four persons in Indore. Apart from this, there are two cases of two Indian women with one and three Pakistan-born children, respectively.

The women are sisters. In Bhopal, there is a case of an Indian mother with two minor children— a five-year-old and a one-and-a-half-year-old.In another case, one has applied for a long-term visa.

In Jabalpur, the police have identified an Indian woman who is married to a Pakistani national. She came here along with three children for passport renewal, and would return to Pakistan after that.  In all such cases of Indian mothers with Pakistan-born minor children, guidance has been sought from the higher authorities.

“Minor children cannot be sent back forcibly,” said the police officer. Following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the Central Government decided to cancel visas issued to Pakistani nationals. Out of 16 categories of visas, 14 were identified for cancellation.
