The ban, if approved, might be implemented in temple towns like Ujjain, Omkareshwar and Chitrakoot.

He added, the government is reviewing its alcohol policy and is serious about suggestions from saints and spiritual leaders regarding the issue.

The Chief Minister stated that complaints about the negative impact of liquor on the environment of religious cities are being frequently received.

"Our aim is to ensure that the sanctity of our religious cities remains intact. With the financial year nearing its end, the government will soon take concrete steps in this direction," he said.
