Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional commissioner Surbhi Gupta has directed the officials to ensure that water under Nal Jal Yojna reaches every house before August 15.

The commissioner issued the instructions to the officials of the Public Health Engineering Department when she was reviewing the progress of Nal Jal Yojna.

This should be done as part of the government’s decision to complete the work before August 15, she said. She directed the officials of Shahdol, Umaria, and Anuppur districts of the division to prepare a weekly schedule to complete the work.

The single-phase Nal Jal projects, which are yet to complete, should be completed and handed over to the village Panchayats.

She also told the officials to address the shortcomings. Joing commissioner Magan Singh Kanesh, chief executive officer of the district Panchayat Anuppur Tanmay Vashshishtha and other officials were present at the meeting.

Gupta told the officials to hold meeting with the contractors to complete the target. The officials should monitor the projects, she said.

Tenders should be floated for the projects for which the state government has given approval, she said. Gupta further said the work should be started and finished within time limit.
