Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): CCTV footage of December 11, 2024 to December 16, 2024 is missing from MP Nursing Council Office, Bhopal. The High Court, on December 12,2024 had ordered the removal of registrar Anita Chand and chairman Dr Jiten Chandra Shukla from their posts at MP Nurses Registration Council (MPNRC) over alleged irregularities in granting recognition to nursing colleges.

It was the hearing on PIL of Advocate Vishal Baghel and other petitions. The High Court had issued instructions to preserve the CCTV footage of MP Nursing Council office from December 13 to December 19, 2024 and submit it in a sealed envelope.

Justice Sanjay Dwivedi and Justice Achal Kumar Paliwal of the Special Bench of the High Court handed over the entire matter to the Police Commissioner Bhopal and Cyber Cell and ordered that every possible effort be made to retrieve the CCTV footage of the Council office of the said period.

The recording of cameras installed around the Council office should be seen to find out what all has been taken out of the office. Advocate Alok Vagrecha the petitioner’s counsel said that High Court has also directed the cyber cell to collect information about the tower location of mobile phone of the then registrar so that his physical availability in the Council office during the period from December 13, 2024 to December 19, 2024 can be ascertained.

‘Enrolment done for those colleges where there were no students’

Petitioner Vishal Baghel also accused the then registrar Anita Chand that she has illegally issued enrolment of students of session 2022-23 of many such nursing colleges of Gwalior, in which not a single student has been found to take admission in the session 2022-23 in the CBI investigation report.

Despite that, the then registrar bypassed the CBI report and opened the portal for enrolment of students shown as admitted fraudulently on backdate. The High Court has also directed the Nursing Council to present files related to enrolment in the High Court.
