Indore: An adult female leopard was successfully rescued today from Mathlai, a village in the Kasrawad Range of Madhya Pradesh, after being found trapped in a snare.

About The Incident

Forest officials acted swiftly after receiving information about the incident. A rescue team from the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary reached the spot and safely extricated the animal.

“The leopard was caught in a trap, but fortunately, our team reached on time and managed to rescue her without any serious injuries,” said Yohan Katara, Superintendent of Ralamandal Sanctuary, Indore.

The leopard was given initial medical attention and is under observation. Authorities are investigating the source of the trap, as such illegal snares pose a serious threat to wildlife in the region.
