Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): Nearly 20 devotees, including some little girls, were reported missing from Kubereshwar Dham in Sehore, where a religious event took place, sources said on Friday.
The family members are visiting police stations searching for the missing persons.A few devotees disclosed the names of their missing family members.
The organisers of the religious event are making announcements about the missing persons. Many people whose relatives went missing are crying, sitting outside the police help centres.
Basudha Bai from Patna in Bihar said her mother, Usha Devi, had been missing since Thursday night. Similarly, Rambha from Chhattisgarh said she did not know anything about her 14-year-old niece.
A woman from Ambala Cantonment said her husband, Kesar Yadav, went missing after the Kawad Yatra, which was led by Pradeep Mishra and had taken out from Sewan River to Kubereshwar Dham.
Lakhs of people from different parts of the country and state participated in the Yatra. A devotee from Hapur in UP, Ramkumar Tomar, said the wife of his younger brother, 22-year-old Chanchal, went missing on August 6. He said he had requested the temple committee to check the CCTV, but they did not do so.
He also alleged that the police were not cooperating with him. SP Deepak Shukla also confirmed that some people were separated from their family members, and a search was underway to locate them, and they would soon join their families.
