Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a dramatic rescue operation, forest officials saved a young leopard that had fallen into an open well in Madla village, Panna district, on Monday morning.

The incident took place around 7 am when the forest team received information about the leopard trapped in the well located in the field of Santosh Prajapati.

The leopard, struggling to stay afloat, was desperately swimming inside the well. Forest officials quickly arrived on the scene and initiated a rescue plan. A cot was lowered into the well, and the leopard climbed onto it.

Once on the cot, a net was thrown over the animal, entangling it and allowing the team to secure and safely pull it out.

The leopard was successfully rescued at 9:20 am and transported to the core area of Panna Tiger Reserve, where it was released back into the wild. Forest officials believe the leopard may have fallen while chasing its prey, possibly a wild animal.
