Madhya Pradesh Govt Hopes Most Investments In Energy Sector

Expects Rs 2 lakh crore worth investment proposals

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The government is hopeful of investments in all sectors at the Global Investors’ Summit (GIS). But most of the investments are expected in Energy Department and the Renewable Energy Department.

The energy sector may get an investment proposal worth Rs 2 lakh crore at the summit. The state is set to get investment in nuclear energy sector.

Apart from that, a new contract may be signed with private parties for power plants. Contracts will be signed with NTPC, Thermal and Greenfield for power plants. Power Finance Corporation Limited plans to invest over Rs 26, 000 crore in the state. Similarly, there may a major investment in renewable energy sector.

The solar firms may set up units in Babai -Mohasa industrial parks in Narmadapuram. Likewise, the foreign companies are also taking part in setting up solar projects.

According to sources, the renewable energy sector may get an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore. The state government has already received several proposals in the energy sector. Only formalities to sign those contracts will be completed at the GIS.
