Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Police have arrested a girl and her boyfriend in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape of a minor girl who went missing on June 18. The victim, a 15-year-old, was rescued on Sunday night from Karond area, TT Nagar police said here on Monday.

According to police, the minor's family initially filed a missing person complaint. Police traced the victim through her mobile phone location. After her rescue, the minor revealed a harrowing ordeal. Her female acquaintance allegedly lured her away and left her with her boyfriend who raped her. Both accused reportedly threatened the victim when she resisted.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-1 Shashank Singh told Free Press that based on the victim's statement and medical reports, the arrested duo has been booked under relevant sections. Investigations are going on to assess whether the accused have a history of committing similar crimes.

The victim also alleged that her female who is an event manager took her to a farmhouse where she was gang-raped for several days and that there were plans to force her into prostitution. The police confirmed she was rescued before this could occur.

The victim is currently undergoing medical examination and counseling by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). More sections will be added to FIR and more arrests may be made based on CWC's report and the medical findings.
