Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Energy minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar inspected the city's power distribution system on Tuesday night. During his visit to the Patali Hanuman area, electricity supply was found disrupted in Tansen Nagar zone. Residents reported that there had been no electricity for the past 3-4 hours.

Consequently, the minister suspended two junior engineers.

Tomar also reviewed the complaints received at the call centre. He assured residents of Tulsi Vihar, Padav, and Ramtapura in the Phoolbagh zone over the phone that a prompt resolution to their issues would be provided.

Tomar directed Nitin Manglik, chief general manager of the power distribution company, to ensure the system remains functional. He also conducted surprise inspections of the Transport Nagar, Motijheel, and Sikandar Kampoo zones.

Speaking to the media, Tomar stated that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and the government are committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply for all.

He mentioned that he would tour the area again tonight to ensure complaints are resolved on time and maintenance is carried out immediately. The minister clarified that the two sub-engineers in Tansen Nagar were suspended due to the power outage and delays in maintenance.

Minister chooses fan over AC

In this scorching heat, energy minister of the state, Pradyuman Singh Tomar, has vowed not to sleep under an air conditioner for the entire month of June. He stated that using an AC consumes a lot of electricity and releases carbon dioxide, which harms the environment.

Instead, he plans to sleep in an open park with a fan. This decision follows his earlier announcement to wear clothes without ironing, which he continues to do. The minister aims to promote energy conservation and environmental awareness through his actions during this hot month.
