Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said entire country was proud of the Indian Army. Highlighting its reputation as a highly disciplined and capable force admired globally, he noted the army’s significant contribution during challenging times, solving global issues with skill and competence.

He commended the army for its courage and strength, its adherence to discipline, and its invaluable role in serving the nation’s interests under all political circumstances. He said its valour and competence was globally acknowledged. He was addressing the marathon programme at Dronachal, organised under the motto, Fit India Run with Indian Army, promoting fitness, unity and patriotism.

He distributed prizes to the marathon winners. The event featured a Bhangra dance performance, adding to the enthusiasm and spirit of the occasion. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for empowering the nation and lauded his initiative of celebrating Diwali with soldiers stationed at the borders. He highlighted the significance of the Army Day observed on 15 January to commemorate General KM Cariappa becoming the first Commander-in-Chief of Indian Army in 1949. He appreciated the Army marathon organized by Sudarshan Chakra Corps as part of this celebration and encouraged its continuity. He spoke on genedre equality, advocating equal prize amount for women winners in the mrmy marathon.

He awarded Rohit Verma a cheque of Rs 1 lakh for securing the first position in Half Marathon Open Category. Harish who came second received Rs 50,000 and Hukum who came third got a cheque of Rs 25,000 along with a Madhya Pradesh Tourism coupon. In the women’s category, prizes were presented to Bharti Nain for first place, Kiran Sahu for second place, and Sushri Preeti Khandelwal for third place. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishvas Sarang and Major General S.K. Srivastava were also present in the programme.
