Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh has received investment proposals worth over Rs 15,710 crore during an interactive session held in Surat, Gujarat, on Sunday.
In response to the strong investor interest, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced opening of a new office of Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) in Ahmedabad. The proposed investments are expected to create more than 11,250 jobs in the state.
CM Yadav said the session is aimed to encourage Gujarat-based industrial houses—especially from Surat—to expand into Madhya Pradesh. He emphasised the natural synergy between two states, citing the example of Panna diamonds being polished in Surat. The state government, he said, is fully committed to providing all necessary support for investment growth.
During the event, Yadav also held one-on-one meetings with more than 18 representatives from different sectors, including textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, engineering and gems and jewellery.
He presented the state's growth story, citing a 39% rise in agriculture, a pool of skilled human resources and rich mineral reserves as key factors that make Madhya Pradesh a prime investment destination.The session drew participation from over 400 industry representatives.
‘MP second home for Guj investors’
Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Raghvendra Singh said Madhya Pradesh offers over 1 lakh acres of land bank, 340+ industrial parks, and specialised clusters in IT, food processing and textiles. He said that Gujarat investors see MP as their "second home" due to the state's transparent land allotment system and streamlined project clearances.
