Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is expected to witness a shift in weather patterns on Thursday due to the influence of a Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation. According to the Meteorological Department, regions like Khargone, Khandwa, Harda, and Betul may experience hailstorms. Additionally, light rain and thunderstorms are predicted in Gwalior, Jabalpur, and several other districts. Cloudy skies are expected in Bhopal and Indore.
The meteorological department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and light rain in multiple districts, including Gwalior, Jabalpur, Morena, Sheopur, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Satna, Rewa, Maihar, Panna, Katni, Damoh, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Raisen, Narmadapuram, and Sehore. Strong winds at a speed of 30-40 km/h may accompany the storm.
Reason Behind Weather Change
IMD Bhopal stated that the combination of a Western Disturbance, a trough system, and a cyclonic circulation has caused these weather fluctuations. On Wednesday evening, hailstorms were reported in Garoth and Shamgarh of Mandsaur district, while several cities, including Dindori, Chhindwara, Mandla, Seoni, and Umaria, witnessed rainfall.
April Weather Trends and Heatwave Prediction
Meteorologists predict that April will experience mixed weather conditions, with light rain in the first two weeks, followed by heatwaves. The last week of April is expected to be the hottest, with temperatures possibly exceeding 45°C. Meteorological Center in Bhopal, stated that above-normal temperatures are expected this season. He warned of 7 to 10 days of heatwave conditions in April.

Fourth Week: With continuous northwesterly winds, temperatures will remain 3-4°C above normal. Minimum temperatures may rise to 27-30°C, making nights warmer as well. Heatwaves will be more frequent, with temperatures soaring to 43-45°C in Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, and Rewa.
Heatwave Alert for April-May
MP typically experiences heatwaves from March onwards, but this year, a delayed onset has resulted in a mixed weather pattern. However, meteorologists predict that April and May will be extremely hot. Heatwaves may persist for 30-35 days, with 15-20 days of extreme heat.
As the summer intensifies, MP residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight, and take necessary precautions to combat the rising temperatures.
