Sagar (Madhya Pradesh): In a strict move against traffic violations, authorities in the city have identified 200 vehicles with tampered number plates using the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS). E-challans have been issued to the offenders on Wednesday, and they have been warned of FIRs and vehicle seizures if found repeating the offense.

Under the instructions of Collector and Chairman of Sagar Smart City Limited, Sandeep G R, the Smart City and Police Administration are continuously working to improve road safety. Public announcements at key intersections remind citizens to follow traffic rules.

However, some drivers have been found attempting to evade surveillance by altering their registration numbers changing digits or modifying the plate’s shape which is a legal offense. With the advanced technology of the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC), ITMS experts successfully identified the actual registration numbers of these vehicles and took action accordingly.

Authorities emphasized that tampering with number plates is a crime and will result in strict legal consequences. Officials urge all motorists to obey traffic laws for their safety. Two-wheeler riders must wear helmets and avoid overloading, while four-wheeler drivers must use seat belts and follow traffic signals. In a city equipped with advanced monitoring systems, any attempt to bypass the law will not go unnoticed.
